Gina is presently working in a long term care/rehabilitation facility in Cumberland, Maryland.  She has been enjoying the rewarding work and colleagues at Golden Living Cumberland,
a 134 bed facility nestled in the scenic Appalachian Mountains of Western Maryland.

Gina is actively involved in resident life by improving dining services with Certified Dietary Managers (CDM); tailoring residents' nutritional needs based on their food preferences and past medical history; and collaborating with speech therapy and nursing staff to improve quality of care.

Gina has been published in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and presented at the American Dietetic Association's Food Nutrition Convention and Expo, the Maryland Dietetic Association's Annual Conference, and the District of Columbia Metropolitian Area (DC MADA's) Annual Conference.

 

She has acute care experience and worked at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center--Passavant covering for a dietitian on maternity leave.  While at Passavant, she has been responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition care  while managing 18-25 patients per day.    She worked on general med-surg units as well as the intensive care unit.  Lastly, she had the opportunity to train two University of Pittsburgh Masters students during their clinical rotation.  This position was a very rich and rewarding experience.
